A digital duplicator, also know as a printer-duplicator, digital press or digital printer, is a printing technology designed for high-volume print project by using a spinning drum and master. It is an alternative to a copy machine, but is more cost effective when printing 25 copier or more on standard paper, file folder and envelopes. 

The digital duplicator begins by digitally scanning the original and then transferring it to a master template through a thermal imaging process. Then the master is automatically wrapped around a print cylinder, where the ink is drawn through the perforations in the master creating the print.

Digital duplicators are known for their high speed in comparison to other printing methods. They’re able to produce papers from 45 t o 180 prints per minute, while maintaining a paper page cost that can be as low as 1/3 of a cent. And digital duplicator can handle print jobs ranging from everyday documents and business communications to more specialized applications like forms-on-demand, business cards, labels and even paper bags. They are also considered very reliable because they do not use heat or copier components such as toner.
